Looking to get into Motorsports? Many members of the Mid-Atlantic 86 Club are active participants in local competitive events. Read on below to find out more about the disciplines our members compete in.

  • Autocross

A safe and affordable way to get into motorsports and simultaneously one of the most competitive disciplines, autocross is a timed competition where drivers navigate a closed cone course in as short a time as possible. Autocross is very novice friendly and frequently serves as a launch pad for other motorsports.

  • HPDE

High Performance Driver Education is the best way to learn how to drive your car on a real race track. With minimal preparation (tires and/or brakes), you can drive your car in a fast and supervised environment. Certified instructors in the classroom and in the passenger seat will take your driving skills and knowledge to the next level.

  • Time Trials

If you are craving competition while driving on track, Time Trials is probably the next stop on your motorsports journey. Time Trials is track driving where the goal is to set the fastest lap time instead of track position in relation to other drivers. Time Trials still involves driving with and passing other drivers, but the stopwatch is the ultimate judge.

  • 86 CUP

The 86 Cup is a local track series where you compete only against fellow FRS, BRZ, & 86/GR86s. Competition classes are specifically designed for these cars. This series occurs during already scheduled HPDE/Time Trials events and there is no additional cost to compete in this series simultaneously. • Drifting

Where motorsports meets art, Drifting is one of the most difficult motorsports disciplines. That hasn’t stopped two members of the Mid-Atlantic 86 Club, Alex Lichliter and Nate Chen, from becoming Formula D Pro Spec Drivers. Both active participants of our local grassroots drift scene, Drift Nirvana is where any aspiring drifter should begin their journey. Click below to learn more.

  • iRacing

Do you miss competitive driving during the off season? Looking for a virtual alternative to motorsports due to budget or other reasons? Whatever the case may be, iRacing is one of the premier driving simulators and the Mid-Atlantic 86 Club has a dedicated iRacing league using the GR86 Cup Car.
